Global reflection on the listing mechanisms of the 2003 Convention

The global reflection on the listing mechanisms of the 2003 Convention was initiated in 2018 with the support of Japan. This work plan concerns the last leg of the reflection to discuss the issues not yet dealt with by the Open-ended intergovernmental working group (Parts I and II); it includes the convening of Part III of the working group whose proposal will be examined by an extraordinary session of the Committee. The concluding part will take place at the ninth session of the General Assembly in mid-2022 that will examine the proposals by the working group in the form of the revisions to the Operational Directives of the 2003 Convention.
