Since 2013, UNESCO with the Department of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles (MSME&T), Government of West Bengal, has been working to strengthen livelihood opportunities for the craft artisans and folk artists in rural West Bengal. The current project aims to continue the ongoing efforts among existing and new beneficiaries towards skills up-gradation and transmission, creation of wider public interest in safeguarding intangible cultural heritage (ICH), market linkages, digital education and promotion, and linkages with Government schemes for the socio-economic betterment of the practitioner communities.
