By reconciling humans with nature, conservation with sustainable use, adressing direct and indirect drivers of biodiversity loss and climate change, UNESCO designated sites are at the forefront of UNESCO intersectoral biodiversity strategy, and climate change action, building resilience against natural hazards and contributing to UN Decades on restoration, oceans and post 2020 framework. Bringing together interdisciplinary research and local and indigenous knowledge, UNESCO designated sites provide solutions to implement SDG's through innovative activities and projects, through cooperative action, share good practices and experiences and provide knowledge products platforms, learning and training material.
