Regional DRR activities that will be supported include cooperation with the LAC UNSDG Issue-Based Coalition on Climate Change and Resilience with particular cooperation on fire, floods, hurricanes and youth in the Caribbean. UNESCO Montevideo coordinates the regional group of experts on risk management (GERM), which also works with IHP committees and the LAC UNESCO sites Climate Change, Risk and Resilience Platform. Working through these networks, UNESCO will provide technical and policy advice and backstopping to governments and sites, develop a MOOC, a scientific publication a project proposal and a webinar series.
