The production and distribution of film and audiovisual is one of the most dynamic growth sectors in the world. It has been growing rapidly in Africa in recent years where the film and audiovisual industry accounts for US$5 billion in GDP, employing around 5 million people. The present workplan aims to contribute to the inclusive development of this strategic sector for the continent with a focus on gender equality, taking into account the recommendations raised by the UNESCO's report on the African film industry published in October 2021.
