UNESCO is the co-secretariat with ITU, UNDP and UNCTAD for implementing the WSIS process, including the facilitation of 11 WSIS Action Lines, of which UNESCO serves as lead facilitator for five Action Lines, as well as co-organizer of the annual WSIS Forum. UNESCO also acts as rotating chair of the UN Group on the Information Society (UNGIS), established by UN System Chief Executives Board for Coordination (CEB) and comprised of more than 30 CEB members engaged in WSIS Action Line implementation. UNESCO supports the multistakeholder model for dialogue and partnership also through such fora as the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development.
