N° du projet 513RAF2022

Climate change impacts are being observed across Southern Africa through increased flooding, landslides and severe droughts. To address this challenge, the project will engage a set of established and proposed Biosphere Reserves in the region to pilot effective pathways towards climate change adaptation in 4 pillars. BRs will be established as observatories for climate change on one hand, and as pilot areas for adaptation actions. Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) will be the focus of the second component, particularly tackling floods, droughts and landslides. Communities in BRs will be actively involved through ESD and Citizen Science. Regional cooperation between BRs is the fourth pillar.
