The project shall increase the ratification of the 2001 Convention on the Protection of the Underwater Cultural Heritage by the organization of three national policy meetings in Nicaragua, the Philippines and Uruguay and four national exhibitions based on panels and selected artifacts in Chile, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama. The events will also serve to build capacity of national authorities in the implementation of the 2001 Convention and augment awareness of challenges and issues concerning submerged heritage.
