The 1974 Recommendation concerning education for international understanding, co-operation and peace and education relating to human rights and fundamental freedoms is a landmark legal instrument. However, given that the context of the world has changed since 1974, with the emergence of new threats and challenges to global peace, and following the adoption of 41 C/Resolution 17, Member States recognized the need to revise the Recommendation in view of enhancing its effectiveness for today's world. This project seeks to support the 1974 Recommendation revision process by facilitating an inclusive and participatory process for Member States.
