N° du projet 537GLO4000

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, national lockdowns and global travel restrictions led to the closure of many heritage sites around the world, resulting in socio-economic impacts, disruption of community life in and around properties, and in many cases the aggravation of poverty. Through a series of pilot cases at World Heritage properties in four regions of the world, this project proposes an overall approach, strategies and capacity building for site management at World Heritage properties in response to COVID-19, integrating conservation, with a place-based sustainable development approach supporting local livelihood opportunities along with enhanced digital presence and sustainable tourism.
