Intangible Heritage and Creativity for Sustainable Cities

The project will promote the role of culture in sustainable urban development and address the role of intangible heritage and creativity towards sustainable cities. The first component will target knowledge and capacity building, through community-based training workshops and pilot inventories of intangible heritage in cities, a survey on creativity in urban areas as well as the review of a Chinese Database of traditional crafts and performing arts. The second component will focus on advocacy and networking through a Global Forum on "Culture and Sustainable Cities", networking workshops and guidance to the pilot project World Expo on craftsmanship and performing arts.
