Following the intersectoral approach to support efforts in building peaceful, healthy, inclusive and sustainable societies in the South Asian region, UNESCO New Delhi will collaborate with all relevant national and regional stakeholders to uphold and apply human rights, and to develop learners' knowledge, skills, values, attitudes and behaviours that foster tolerance, empathy, and solidarity to engage with the world as responsible global citizens. Emphasis will be placed to promote the transformative role of education to build back better after the Covid-19 pandemic, and to foster social cohesion in addressing increasing levels of ideological polarization and social unrest.
