About UNESCO in Uzbekistan
UNESCO is the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization. Uzbekistan became a Member State of the Organization in 1993, and since then, the cooperation between UNESCO and Uzbekistan has deepened and strengthened. In 1996, the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan was established and enhanced the cooperation between the two even further. The primary focus of the Office is to provide technical assistance in its areas of expertise. Currently, it oversees several flagship projects in areas such as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Teachers' Professional Development, Media Sector Reform, and the promotion of tangible and intangible heritage and the creative economy.
