This project is a continuation and upgrade of the project "Conservation and Management of World Heritage Sites in China" from the previous 3 phases since 2011, funded by China Youth Development Foundation Mercedes-Benz Star Fund. The Project Phase IV seeks to provide solid evidence in elaborating culture's enabling role in promoting sustainable economic, social and environmental development in China, and to consolidate good practices and case studies that could be shared and adapted on an international scale. The project design aligns with the 3 priorities of the 2021-2025 United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework in China (UNSDCF).
