In line with UNESCO MAB and Geopark programs, the overall objective of the workplan is to further promote the interconnectedness between human, social and environmental systems. Building on the momentum in the GCC region and interest of the Member states to further engage and collaborate with UNESCO, the workplan will focus on increasing awareness on the importance of science, technologies, innovation and education as tools to foster sustainable and positive societal changes while promoting climate action, environmental protection and sustainable management of natural resources.
