In line with UNESCO Strategy for Gender Equality In and Through Education 2019-2025, the New Delhi Office will support Member States in South Asia to strengthen ED systems to be gender-transformative, and to empower girls and women to build better lives through ED. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, focus for 2022 and 2023 will be to: * improve data gathering methods to inform action for gender equality in & through ED; * strengthen legal, policy & planning frameworks to advance rights; and *reinforce inclusive, safe & barrier free teaching and learning practices to empower learners. The Office will also promote accelerated action to advance girls' & women's education through "Her education, our future" by leveraging political & financial commitments and cooperation and joint action.
