The project aims to raise awareness among communities and individuals to better understand risks and take preventive and mitigation actions before and during hazards through education and communication, by working with formal and non formal education systems, media and civil society engagement, and with a strong focus on vulnerable groups such as youth and women. It also aims to build capacity in the public sector including local and national governments and regional organizations to better prepare and respond to hazards through policy review and development, as well as collaborative work to ensure sustainability of the project results.
