New issues continuously arise and the COVID-19 pandemic has created multiplied effects to the sites. With the challenges posed, there is a need to strengthen efforts to protect the cultural and natural heritage in CA. Through capacity-building, countries will be supported at the national and local levels, improving the conservation and sustainable management of WH sites. Activities under this RP will aim at strengthening capacities of WH sites' managers, heritage focal points, promoting more holistic, multi-disciplinary approach for heritage management such as the integration of DRR, emergency preparedness and response to tourism development in existing management plans of WH sites. They will aim at enhancing heritage protection through awareness-raising and educational initiatives.
