The programme aims at supporting the provincial governments in improving girls' transition from primary to lower secondary education, increasing access to schools and enhancing learning through a holistic approach to quality education at secondary level. More specifically, the programme has following four objectives: Create a demand for continuation of girls' education beyond primary to lower secondary level, Improve access to and retention of adolescent girls in lower secondary education, Provide optimum learning opportunities to learners, and build capacity of education officials at provincial and district levels.
