Project ID 526URT1000

Tanzania has made achievements in expanding enrolment and gender parity at the primary education level. The completion rate at that level remains a challenge with 13% of children failing to complete in 2014. Girls' transition from primary to lower secondary education is lower compared to boys. Girls' drop out is attributed to cultural norms promoting early marriage and teenage pregnancy. The project aims to educate adolescent girls and young women to successfully transition into adulthood through promotion of gender equality and holistic comprehensive approaches to quality education. It will be implemented in four Districts: Ngorongoro, Sengerema; Kasulu and Mkoani in Pemba.
