Dear readers,
Climate change impacts all aspects of life around the world and poses a growing threat to societies and their livelihoods. Now more than ever, it is critical to equip learners with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to tackle climate change and promote sustainable development.
Education plays an essential role in this process by getting every learner climate-ready. Yet, a UNESCO survey revealed that 70% of young people question the quality of the climate change education they receive. Learning and skills development systems must heed the call to enhance climate change education, while empowering young people to tap into their potential as agents of change for climate resilience.
In this issue of the UNEVOC Quarterly, we highlight our youth-focused side events at COP28 and provide a snapshot of our activities aimed at supporting learners and workers with skills for a green and digital future.
We wish you a happy and prosperous 2024!
