Activities under this workplan will be twofold. They will aim at strengthening capacities of World Heritage sites' managers and National Focal Points in the Caribbean, while promoting the integration of disaster risk reduction, preparedness and response mechanisms in existing management plans of selected World Heritage sites, thus contributing to respond to the most pressing challenges faced by heritage properties, and following-up to the 'Caribbean Plan of Action for Disaster Resilience and Recovery of the Culture sector'. Similarly, they will aim at enhancing cultural and natural heritage protection through awareness-raising and educational initiatives, particularly targeting young people and local communities who live within and around prioritized World Heritage sites.
