Project ID 2210154023

To reinforce national efforts in improving quality of education, UNESCO New Delhi will provide technical assistance to its cluster countries to translate the SDG 4-ED 2030 teacher-related commitments into national policies and plans. Focus will be on improving teacher competency standards & supporting teachers adopt updated methods & practices of teaching within the SAARC Framework for Action for Education 2030. Linkages between SDG 4 targets on teachers and on ESD will also be established. UNESCO's support will also pay special attention to the gender dimension & contribute to reduce gender disparities in the teaching profession, especially at the managerial level. To that end, relevant partners will be engaged, including the Intl Teachers Taskforce for Education 2030 and SEAMEO.
