Despite high gross enrolment rates at the compulsory school education level, Central Asia still faces issues with regard to the quality of education, which then results in unequal opportunities and increasing inequalities in the societies. UNESCO Almaty will provide support to national education stakeholders for strengthening the quality and relevance of education and competency-based learning for all learners, through the review and analysis of the national policies and curricula, enhancement of curriculum, development of learning and teaching materials on ESD, GCED, PVE, MIL and healthy lifestyles in Central Asia.
