UTCO countries are semi-arid or arid with limited water resources. Water scarcity is exacerbated by climate change, population growth, higher temperatures and poor government management and planning. At this activity the UNESCO cluster countries will be supported to improves knowledge about the resilience of groundwater resources to human pressures and climate change in arid and semi-arid areas. knowledge about sustainable water resources management will be generated, Capacity and scientific exchanges on climate action and providing nature-based solutions to climate disasters such as sand and dust storms through regional cooperation, will be strengthened.
