UNESCO unveils the outdoor exhibition We are Living Heritage, a captivating journey through the diversity of intangible cultural heritage from across the globe.

To celebrate the adoption of this important Convention, this exhibition invites us to explore the richness of living heritage, which includes oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festivities, traditional crafts, and knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe.

The theme ‘We Are Living Heritage’ highlights the living and ever-changing nature of our expressions, practices, and knowledge. It underscores our shared humanity and the notion that intangible cultural heritage is also something we live, breathe, and grow with every day. Our dances, stories, crafts, sports, foodways, arts and festivities… these are all reflections of the generations that came before us and ties to the generations that follow.
This exhibition encourages us to safeguard our cultural heritage and to share it with the world. Together, we can harness its power to promote sustainable development and peace.

The exhibitions will run from 7 November 2023 to 1 March 2024.

UNESCO wishes to thank all partners and the Member States for their contribution to this exhibition.
