The proposed project aims at supporting the ongoing efforts in conserving the ancient Christian manuscripts in Iraq that are currently under the custody of the Digital Center of Eastern Manuscripts, especially those salvaged in 2014 by Fr. Najeeb Michaeel at the onset of the takeover of Mosul and its surroundings by ISIL. Specific objectives of the project are as below: a) To conserve a selection of the most historically significant Christian manuscripts salvaged from the Mosul area; b) To supply basic needed materials and equipment for manuscript conservation at the Digital Center of Eastern Manuscripts.
