The JPO will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Project Officer of the CLT Team in the Amman Office. Since the Office's portfolio on cultural heritage has been steadily expanding, new capacities, particularly with a law back ground and with a sound level of knowledge about UNESCO and its Conventions are needed. UNESCO Amman office has been playing a prominent role in Jordan in the protection and rehabilitation of the unique cultural heritage of the country. The KSA funded JPO will be placed in the CLT team, so that synergies and an increased level of coordination can be realized. The JPO will be able to contribute to the visibility of the programs in the safeguarding of heritage.
