The project aims to guarantee free, plural and fair elections against disinformation through fostering freedom of expression, including press freedom and public access to information. UNESCO will implement the project by reinforcing the capacities and knowledge of key actors involved in elections on international standards and best practices on these issues. It specifically seeks to address the challenges of disinformation during electoral periods. The project will also target youth, women, the disabled, and residents of remote areas, to facilitate their access to information to guarantee their fair inclusion in the upcoming elections.
