How to get involved with UNESCO Green Citizens

Take action with UNESCO Green Citizens: the initiative that aims to connect citizens with project owners supporting environmental actions.

Do you want to contact a project?

Fill in the form!

Want to become a volunteer? To volunteer is to commit!

There are 23 needs expressed by projects with which you can offer help:

Communication strategy design, Crowdfunding, Digital Communication, Equipment Supply, Financial Management, Financial Reporting, Graphic Design, In Search of Financial Partners, Legal, Logistical Support, Monitoring and Evaluation, Partnerships Development, Press Relations, Project Management, Research, Social Media, Sponsorship/Philanthropy, Strategy/Advocacy, Technical Support, Training, Translation Services, Volunteer Workforce, Web Design.

Once you have chosen a project that interests you, you can propose to offer your help according to your skills and their needs.

Fill out the engagement form with your contact information, the project needs you can with, the preferred duration of your volunteering experience, and write a message explaining your motivations and the skills you can bring to the project.

The form is then sent to the Green Citizens team to be reviewed. Our team will connect the project leader and the volunteer. This will increase the quality and efficiency of contact and applications received by project owners.

We will contact you and the chosen project afterwards to make sure the volunteering process runs smoothly. At the end of your volunteering experience, you will have to return a form to share your feedback.

This is not a UNESCO volunteering and the Organization cannot be held responsible for people who commit to projects listed on the site. Our role at UNESCO is to facilitate your contact with project leaders. Similarly, neither the project promoters nor the volunteers can claim to be of the Organization, speak on its behalf or assume the responsibility of the Organization.
