What is UNESCO's role in the G20?
At the initiative of the Brazilian Presidency, and for the very first time, UNESCO is contributing to the work of the G20 as a privileged partner.
The Director-General of UNESCO took part in the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting, in Rio de Janeiro, where she presented the role of the Organization, as a privileged partner of this Forum.

Political process
Heads of delegation (sherpa) meet to discuss progress on the different processes.
G20 member and partner meet to exchange views and ideas.
The G20 Foreign Ministers will meet to discuss two priority themes: the collective role in the face of current international tensions and the reform of global governance.
The Heads of State and Government approve the agreements negotiated throughout the year and set out the means for tackling global challenges.
