"Open Educational Resources (OER) are learning, teaching and research materials in any format and medium that reside in the public domain or are under copyright that have been released under an open license, that permit no-cost access, re-use, re-purpose, adaptation and redistribution by others."
BC Campus (Canada)
The B.C. Open Collection is a curated selection of OER that can be accessed by educators to use in the classroom, in an institutional learning management system, or on other teaching and learning platforms. The textbooks are available for free as online versions and in a variety of file formats (e.g., for eReaders, or editable files like XML, Word and LaTeX). Some open textbooks contain supplemental or ancillary materials (e.g. test banks, quizzes, PowerPoint slides, videos). Subjects of the textbooks include Arts, Business, Education, Health, Recreation/Tourism, Sciences, Social Sciences, Support Resources, Trades and Upgrading Programs.
