UNESCO Transcultura Call to young Caribbean dancers, dance educators and choreographers

The UNESCO programme Transcultura: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through Culture and Creativity, funded by the European, invites young Caribbean dancers, dance educators and choreographers to participate in an artistic education residency programme and teach Caribbean dance rhythms and innovative techniques for one full week in the framework of the 2024 edition of the Vienna International Dance Festival ― ImPulsTanz, which will take place from 11 July to 11 August in the city of Vienna, Austria.

As part of this event, the UNESCO Transcultura Programme has joined hands with the Organising Committee of one of the most important dance festivals in Europe ― ImPulsTanz to provide an opportunity to up to three (3) young Caribbean dancers, dance educators and choreographers, between 18 and 35 years of age, experienced in dance teaching, to leverage a residency programme and deliver ― during one week or one weekend, within the Festival´s time period ― (a) workshop(s) aimed at bringing Caribbean rhythms and innovative dance techniques to Europe.

The applicants should represent one of the following 17 countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname and Trinidad and Tobago.
