Event
Rooted in Resilience: Unearthing the importance of soil in Sustainable Development
Soils support 95-98% of the global food supply. They also play many other key roles in climate regulation and carbon sequestration, the water cycle, and the development of traditional knowledge for landscape management. Soil quality and soil health are thus at the heart of sustainable development and their goals.
UNESCO is convening experts on 1 July 2024 in Agadir, Morocco, to identify key knowledge gaps in soil sciences that would lead to pilot projects aiming to improve sustainable development and the rehabilitation of soils.
