The International Fund for the Promotion of Culture (IFPC) is governed by an Administrative Council consisting of eight members designated by the Director-General who meet in ordinary session once a year. The Administrative Council enjoys wide intellectual and operational autonomy within UNESCO. It establishes the principles governing the Fund’s activities, decides on the use of the resources of the Fund, approves its budget, analyses and approves requests for funding, and endeavours to promote the voluntary contribution of funds or of any other form of resources.
