Workshop on the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in Kiribati (Tarawa, 9-11 February 2011)

From 09-02-2011 to 11-02-2011 (Kiribati) 

This Workshop will discuss a strategy and action plan for strengthening the safeguarding of ICH in Kiribati by using guidelines and practical tools made available under the UNESCO Programme in this field. The Workshop will also examine the opportunity presented by the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. National presentations on different aspects of ICH safeguarding will be planned for the 2nd day of the Workshop.

The Workshop will be held in cooperation with the Ministry of Social and Internal Affairs and Kiribati National Commission for UNESCO with financial support under the UNESCO/Japanese Funds-in-Trust.
