2015 UN-Water Annual International Zaragoza Conference. Water and Sustainable Development: From Vision to Action. 15-17 January 2015

Side event. Management and innovation in water and energy in Ibero-America (in Spanish)

Date: 14 January 2015
Time: 12:30-17:00
Place: Confederación Hidrográfica del Ebro, Paseo de Sagasta 24, Zaragoza
Convener: World Council of Civil Engineers, Fundación Aquae, CODIA

Water and energy inter-relations in Ibero-America are diverse, complex and intense. Current trends suggest that this interdependence will be subject to increased stress in the future mainly because of population growth and urbanization; increasing economic growth; competition for water in river basins with concentrated economic development; and tendencies towards increasing the water intensity of energy production and the energy intensity of water provision for different uses – all this in the context of climate change.
