Studies and Documents
During the drafting and publication period of the General History of Africa Collection, UNESCO organized scientific colloquia and symposia on topics related to the history of Africa most of which were overlooked by researchers. The results of these meetings were published in a series of books entitled “UNESCO Studies and Documents - The General History of Africa".
Twelve studies were published covering a wide range of subjects: (the Slave trade, relations between Africa and the Arab world, relations between Africa and the Indian Ocean, the role of youth and women, etc).
These complete studies are accessible free of charge and can be downloaded in electronic format (PDF).
