The next Call for Applications for the UNESCO Creative Cities Network will be launched in 2019.
Following the 2017 Call for Applications, 64 Creative Cities from 44 contries have been designated by UNESCO Director-General on 31 October 2017. Click to see the list
In order to strengthen the geographical balance of the Network, please note that a specific cooperation framework has been proposed under the 2017 UCCN Call for candidate cities of the Africa region, under-represented within the Network. To know more, please refer to annexes 1 and 2 of the 2017 Designation Procedure.
Timeline:
All applications had to be submitted by email to ccnapplications@unesco.org, using the official UCCN 2017 Application Form available below, and have to be received by the UNESCO Secretariat no later than 16 June 2017, midnight CET.
Following the evaluation process carried out by internal and external consultations with independent experts and the member cities of the Network, the Director-General of UNESCO designates the UNESCO Creative Cities.
