The Call for Applications for the 3^rd edition of the International Award “UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21” is opened until 16 March 2018.

Organized by UCLG (United Cities and Local Governments) and Mexico City, the objective of the International Award “UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21” is to recognize cities and personalities that have distinguished themselves for their contribution to culture as a key driver for sustainable development.

The Award is unique in promoting culture and creativity as levers for sustainable cities.

The International Award “UCLG – Mexico City – Culture 21” proposes one category for “City/Local Government”, which recognizes a city, local or regional government, whose cultural policy has significantly contributed to linking values of culture (heritage, diversity, creativity, transmission of knowledge) with democratic governance, citizen participation and sustainable development.

The project presented by the winning city will receive the amount of EUR 50,000.

Based on experience from previous editions of the Award, please note that the Jury appoints a large number of applications as good practices. Click to see the database of good practices.
