The International Observatory of Syrian Cultural Heritage monitors and assesses the situation of cultural heritage in Syria since the beginning of the conflict in March 2011. The Observatory collects information on the damage, destruction and looting incurred by built and movable heritage, as well as the rupture caused to intangible heritage practices in order to support international and national efforts in mitigating the threats to cultural heritage and developing sound actions for future actions in Syria as well as to assist in post-conflict recovery efforts. This is part of the Emergency Safeguarding of the Syrian Cultural Heritage project. Read more
