Summer Art Students Exhibition in Nassau

Summer Art Students Exhibition in Nassau

When:
Tue, 09/01/2015
Design works created by 50 students aged between 9 and 14 years during a Summer Art Workshop have been showcased in Nassau (Bahamas) during the month of September 2015. The workshop and the exhibition “Positive Energy for Positive Change” were sponsored by the Bahamas Country Office of the Inter-American Development Bank with the aim of improving lives by engaging in local communities.

Collaborated with Creative Nassau and the North East Pastors Alliance, the Summer Art Students project explored the way children express themselves through the creative arts by introducing them to different types of art and artistic techniques. As declared by Pam Burnside, the President of Creative Nassau, strengthening community through creativity is an important and positive way to foster the country’s development.

Moreover, as a new member of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, the city is displaying a UNESCO Creative Cities banner to showcase its pride of its designation in 2014 as well as its engagement to actively cooperate with other cities within the Network.
