Discover the Winners of the UNESCO IITE Open Initiative “Innovative Educational Technologies”

UNESCO IITE is pleased to announce the winners of the first edition of the Open Initiative “Innovative Educational Technologies”. Launched to celebrate the International Day of Education in 2020, this initiative was designed to capture the ongoing trends in the impact of innovative educational technologies on society, education and progress towards Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, participants were invited to promote best practices, expertise and innovation and to acknowledge excellence in ICT in teaching and learning.

The Open Initiative accepted essays focused on innovative use of technology in instruction and other aspects of education, for example, administration and learning analytics. UNESCO IITE received submissions from 8 countries: Armenia, Belarus, Canada, Finland, France, Russia, UAE and USA.

To find the most promising practices, the expert committee evaluated the submissions using the following criteria: innovative use of technologies, originality and design of the solution, technical reliability and scalability, collaboration with partners and other stakeholders, engagement of teachers and students.

The Open Initiative winners were selected:

1st Place:  due to the overall high quality of received submissions, the expert committee decided to nominate winners in two categories:

3rd Place: Sirarpi Tatoyan and Yelena Amiryan, UNESCO Chair on Education for Sustainable Development of the Center for Ecological-Noosphere Studies of NAS RA, Armenia

The Project “Learning for the Future”

The winners and participants will receive open badges and certificates. To disseminate and promote received best practices, UNESCO IITE will be pleased to welcome all participants at the event organized as soon as the global situation stabilizes.
