• After the adoption of the Appropriation Resolution, the closing ceremony of the 40th session of the General Conference, will take place in Room I with the addresses by the Director-General and the President of the General Conference.

  On this occasion, the UNESCO Choir, directed by Connie Glessner and accompanied at the piano by its Artistic Director, Cyrille Kirilov, will perform two pieces originating from diverse musical background:  The “Allegro” from the "Te Deum laudamus" by Franz Joseph Haydn, a great hymn of praise, followed by “Dry your tears, Afrika”, a song written by the composer John Williams whose lyrics were adapted from a poem written by the celebrated Ivoirian poet, Bernard Binlin Dadié.

• As per well-established practice UNES’GO (this year with the support of YOUNG UNESCO) invites you to celebrate the end of the 40th session of the General Conference. The P.A.R.T.Y will take place in the “Salle des Pas Perdus” (UNESCO Fontenoy – Ground floor) starting at 19:00. This event has no cost for the Organization (Volunteers for the logistic – Free entrance – Finger food & Drinks for sale) and the music will be eclectic: Mainly Hit and Dance 2018-2019, Party goodies, Old goodies, but also a mix of world music (Latino, Middle East music, Afro-beat, Zouk, Salsa, Merengue, Reggae)... No dress code: Come as you are and let’s party in a cool and multicultural ambiance!

• The 22th Session of the General Assembly of the State Parties to the 1972 Convention concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage will take place from 10:00 to 13:00 in Room XI and from 15:00 to 18:00 in room II. If continuation of elections is required, an extraordinary session of the World Heritage Committee will take place on 28 November from 14:00 to 15:00 in Room II.

  Lake Chad is an important source of fresh water that supports more than 40 million people and faces growing challenges. Its potential, variability and diversity make it an asset in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. You are welcome to discover the unusual potential of Lake Chad in 4 indigenous languages through the activities of the BIOPALT project in a photo gallery on the fences of UNESCO's headquarters. The BIOPALT project is implemented by UNESCO through its Man and Biosphere (MAB) programme, International Hydrological Programme (IHP) and World Heritage. It targets, in particular, young people, women and indigenous peoples.
