Call for Creative City collaborators: Busan film residency and inter-city festival

Call for Creative City collaborators: Busan film residency and inter-city festival

When:
Mon, 04/24/2017 to Thu, 05/11/2017

Busan invites the UNESCO Creative Cities of Film to nominate one filmmaker from each city to participate in a three week collaborative filmmaking residency.

From 24 April to 11 May, this inter-city session featuring cinematic representatives from the other Creative Cities of Film will be a unique opportunity to display the collaborative spirit and unity that bonds together the members of the Network.

Following the residency, participants will be invited to screen their city’s filmmaker film at the 1st Busan Inter-City Film Festival, held from 12 to 14 May. Last year’s edition saw the screening of 56 films, including those of the ‘In-Between’ session featuring the work of directors with origins in Busan, but who have taken their skills elsewhere around the globe.

These events aim to create designated space for culture and creativity, and to take advantage of key cultural assets of the city, notably through the Busan Cinema Center. In doing so, they seek to foster the development of the Network cities’ film production capacities, and thus put creativity at the core of sustainable urban development, in the light of the implementation of the UCCN’s Mission Statement and the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development
