World is your stage! 9th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition

Held every three years in Hamamatsu (Japan), Creative City of Music, from November 21st to December 8th 2015, the 9th Hamamatsu International Piano Competition will gather young pianist from different countries and bring them to a world level stage. After the fierce competitive pre-selection, 87 applicants from 21 countries have been approved as competitors for the 1st Stage.
 
Launched in 1991, the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition commemorates the anniversary of the city's establishment. Addressed to young talented musicians all over the world, the Competition was started as an international project expressing the pride of Hamamatsu's tradition and history as a city of music and instruments. 
 
The Competition aims to nurture young pianists and provide them with a stage to showcase their work, promote global music culture and encourage international cultural exchanges. 
 
Providing opportunities for the development of young pianists, the top prize winner of the Competition will join a national and international exchange tour, participate in distinguished music festivals and perform with orchestras or for solo recitals in the following year.
