Gaston Mialaret

Gaston Mialaret was born on 10 October 1918 in Paris, France. He holds degrees in mathematics, psychology, and psycho-pedagogy and has a Certificate of Aptitude for the Inspection of primary schools and the Management of teacher training schools. Mialaret was put in charge of organizing the first class of “sixième nouvelle” before becoming a professor of mathematics at the Modern Technical College.After his time at the higher teacher training school in Saint-Cloud, he was responsible for organizing the first laboratory of psycho- pedagogy of the E.N.S. in addition to teaching in the University of La Sorbonne, at the Institute of psychology, and at the E.N.N.A. of PARIS. In 1953, Mialaret was appointed to coordinate the Psychology BA at the University of CAEN. It is at this university that he began his career and developed his studies in psychology. After his retirement in 1984, he was called by UNESCO to become the Director of the International Bureau of Education in Geneva. Gaston Mialaret held this position from 1987-1988.
