The UNESCO Institute for Statistics encourages developers and researchers to build websites and applications that make rich use of UIS dissemination data. The UIS supports a data browser and a bulk data download service (BDDS) to access all databases in csv format.
Please note that as of June 23rd, 2020 the current UIS SDMX API has reached its End-of-Life (EOL) and is no longer up-to-date with the latest UIS datasets. It will continue to accept API traffic and return results until it is decommissioned and replaced with a new UIS API in 2021. Additionally, we have made significant progress on one of our most requested features. A comprehensive and easy to use bulk dataset download service is now live and can be found here: https://apiportal.uis.unesco.org/bdds
To avoid any disruption on your end, we kindly recommend you migrate off the current UIS SDMX API. This change allows the UIS to focus on our core mission, which is to offer trusted high quality data, and ensure that future information products remain flexible & future-proof and accessible to all levels of data user.
