Kırşehir Organized the International Neset Ertas Memorial Festival
From 23 to 25 September, Kırşehir, a Creative City of Music, organized the International Neset Ertas Memorial Festival, commemorating the artist with the aim of nurturing local musical culture. Musicians, experts, and city representatives, including over 50 participants from UNESCO Creative Cities such as Afyonkarahisar, Batumi, Hannover, Kutahya and Pesaro, participated in the Festival.
Featuring a compilation of concerts, performances and panel discussions, the Festival created an enabling platform for sharing of knowledge, experiences and good practices while highlighting the richness of the city’s musical culture. Free access was granted to all participants of the Festival, reflecting the city’s commitment to the UCCN mission, particularly to improving access to participation in cultural life and enjoyment of cultural goods and services. The free access also contributed to promoting local music and musical tradition.
Through this international commemoration, Kırşehir raised awareness of the role of music in sustainable development and created synergies amongst fellow Creative Cities from different creative fields.
