Call for Scripts | Cities of Literature Short Play Festival in Dunedin

Call for Scripts | Cities of Literature Short Play Festival in Dunedin

When:
Fri, 02/01/2019

Until 1 February 2019, playwrights, theatre companies and universities based in UNESCO Creative Cities Call for Scripts of Literature are invited to submit creative scripts and productions. Selected works will be staged at the Cities of Literature Short Play Festival to be held in Dunedin, UNESCO Creative City of Literature, from 12 to 20 September 2019.

The Festival, which is part of the University of Otago's 150th anniversary celebrations, will allow contributors and participants to share their work with a wider international audience, to explore new artistic connections, and to receive considered feedback on their work from both professional specialists and audiences.

With the purpose of covering a wide range of themes, playwrights have to submit 20-minute plays, or 20-minute segments of longer plays. During the event, Otago’s theater students will select some plays and they will present them on stage.

For submissions and inquiries, please write to UNESCOPlayfest@otago.ac.nz
